Hello everyone
I hope you are all keeping well, Today I have my Easter Egg gift box for you. These are great to fill with treats and brighten someones day with!
The idea for this box came from a few different sources, Pinterest and also Sam Clayton's fabulous orb Christmas decoration. I saw on Pinterest a few different shaped orb gift boxes and then thought that I could sort of mash them together and make it into an Easter Egg. After adjusting the sizing etc I finally settled on the design and measurents I have used.
I have made these boxes in 2 different sizes and I will be showing you in the video tutorial how to make the smaller one which only uses half a sheet of cardstock. I will list the measurements for the larger one below too. The construction is the same for both sizes.
I have made both of these boxes using Blackberry Bliss card and some of the Peaceful Poppies DSP which are in the mini catalogue. On the larger box I have used the Poppy Moments dies to make the large flower and leaves.
For the Smaller Egg
Cardstock, 5 3\4" x 8 1\4"
Score at
On the 8 1\4" side at
1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7" and 8"
On the 5 3\4" side at
1", 2", 3" and 4 3\4"
You will then need to add in the scorelines for you to make the diagonal scorelines, For these you will need to score at
1 1\2", 3 1\2", 5 1\2" and 7 1\2" to the FIRST scoreline, Turn your card over and repeat these scorelines.
Then following the video tutorial add in the diagonal score lines.
For the large egg
Cardstock, 10 1\2" x 7 3\4"
On the 10 1\2" side score at
1 1\4", 2 1\2", 3 3\4", 5", 6 1\4", 7 1\2", 8 3\4" and 10"
On the 7 3\4" side score at
1 1\4", 2 1\2", 3 3\4" and 6 1\2"
The scorelines for the top and bottom squares are as follows
1 7\8", 4 3\8", 6 7\8" and 9 3\8"
Again follow the video to add in the diagonal scorelines.
For the paper bow on the egg in the video you will need to use an Envelope Punch Board. The piece of DSP measures 1" x 7 1\8".
To make the bow you will need to punch at the following
1 1\2", 3 1\2" turn the strip of DSP and punch at 1 1\2" again. Flip and repeat. Then punch on either end as centrally as you can.
Here is the video Tutorial
Here is what I used today
I hope you enjoy this project, Please stay safe, Stay home and get your craft on!
Until next time,
Happy crafting!
