Stampin' Up! Playful Backgrounds Notepad cover and tiny box

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Made by Gemma crafts

Hello everybody

Today I have got a little project for you featuring the Playful Backgrounds stamp set. I have used it to create my own dsp to decorate a notepad cover and tiny gift box that I made for the people that attended my workshop back in June. There are so many tutorials out there for notepad covers etc but I have kept mine simple and easy to do so you can make a batch for chirstmas or to have in the emergency gift stash!

The little box has a couple of chocolates in and some little sticky notes too. I got my notepads from WHSmiths but they are available in most supermarkets and of course online.

Inside the notepad cover I made a pocket and put the new In Colour bookmark that i made up in there. On the opposite side is the note pad itself.

Click on the picture above to watch the video tutorial.

The little box is made form a piece of sweet sugarplum cardstock measuring 6 1/2" by 5 3/4" and scored on the 6 1/2" side at 1 1/2", 3", 4 1/2" and 6". On the 5 3/4" side its is then scored at 1 1/2" and 4 3/4".
The dsp that I stamped was then used to decorate the box and the cover. For the box you will need 2 pieces measuring 1 1/4" by 3".
The note pad cover is a piece of sweet sugarplum cardstock measuring 6 1/4" by 8 1/2" scored on the 6 1/4" side at 3" and 3 1/4".
You will also need 3 pieces of dsp. One measuring 8 1/4" by 2 3/4", One that is 4" by 5" this is for the pocket inside and finally one that is 10" by 2 7/8" for the front of the notepad,

  1. Hi, Gemma! Thank you for sharing how to make that very cute notepad cover. I think it is perfect for grocery lists. However, next time you might want to reconsider wearing a bracelet. Every time you move it clicks against the scoreboard. I like the cute little box, too.
