Stampin'Up! Happy Birthday

Hello everyone

This week I am back for week 3 of the Crafty Cupcakes Design Team. This week we have decided to change the stamp set due to the issues with the Daisy Punch being unavailable. This is a real shame and the punch has proved so popular that it went on backorder pretty much instantly. Stampin'Up! issued the following

To give you some background, on average, we’ll sell about 7,000 of any given punch in a year. Knowing that the Daisy Punch would be popular, our initial order quantity for a four-month supply was 10,000—more than a year’s supply for a typical punch. As soon as we saw how quickly it was selling, we placed additional orders. Unfortunately, those take time to produce. The next shipment of Daisy Punches will likely arrive mid-August. Therefore, the Daisy Punch (and all associated bundles) will remain unorderable until that shipment arrives. We know how frustrating it is for you to not be able to sell (or buy) this punch, and we apologise for the delay; the extraordinary demand for this punch took all of us by surprise—in fact, it’s our highest selling punch in the last five years.

So with this in mind we decided to use the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set for the remainder of the month. Please remember to head over to Emma at Little Crafty Me to see what she has made this week.

My card this week is made with Powder Pink and Smoky Slate.

The softness of the Smokey Slate works really well the Powder pink and makes the delicate flowers in the stamp set just stunning. I decided to try and keep it clean and simple so I stamped the flowers with Smoky slate and then Powder Pink and fussy cut them and used dimensionals to make them pop off the card. I cut a small piece of card for the sentiment banner and also added a stamped flower and layered it with some Smoky Slate card. I then stamped some of the images onto the card and added some of the sqiggley lines which I think are meant to be used on the balloon but I liked them coming out of the foliage. The final touches were added with some basic rhinestones. The inside of the card has a stamped sentiment and another flower in the corner.
